Butter, patience & family.
Minuet Cafe is run by co-owners Julie and Shane Han. They opened quietly in a small brick plaza in Brentwood, and word spread the way it does for good bakeries: one neighbour telling another.
Shane earned his master pastry chef diploma in Germany and worked there for many years before the family made their home in Canada. Julie runs the front of house and the heart of the shop. Together they bring a Korean family's hospitality to a German pastry counter.
The case changes daily. Some mornings it is a bacon and cheese quiche still warm from the oven, other days it is fruit tarts or a cake that took all night. Come early, and ask what just came out.
Draft based on press coverage. Julie's role and the family history need to be confirmed with the owners.“A hidden gem that delivers on flavour and craftsmanship.”Savour Calgary
